As a children’s book author and dynamic speaker, Dr. Dimitra J. Smith is sought-out for her experience and expertise in leadership, career fulfillment, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) education and preparation. Dr. Smith invites young scholars on exciting journeys through STEAM by way of her four (4) children’s books: The Beary STEAM-tastic Adventure; The STEAMflites Save the Day, Teele and Guba’s Exciting Escapades Through STEM, and The Best STEAM Career of All Career.
As a University Educator, Dr. Smith understands the importance of increasing the knowledge and awareness of the activities involved in STEAM. Her books are carefully and intentionally written to educate children on all of the fun and creative things that can be done in STEAM. Dr. Smith invites you to step into a realm where imagination knows no bounds, and your personal story comes to life.
Dr. Smith is a Professor in the Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration and Community College Leadership from Iowa State University, and her Master’s Degree at Iowa State University in Educational Leadership and Policy, with an Emphasis in Higher Education/Student Affairs. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a Psychology undergraduate degree.
